"The Art of Alleviation"

2022 BFA Senior Exhibition

I find it ironic that the word “paint” can not exist without “pain” being present. Painting has allowed me to release my anguish as I relocate it into my art. Each piece contains a painful moment in my life that brings me one bit closer to resiliency. This process has given me a taste of alleviation from the burdens I have been carrying for the last 17 years. This series is about the pain we must endure in service of healing and the work it takes to become more than just a survivor.
